What is your learning edge?

I am filling out an application for a course called Leading by Being that I am enrolling in. I wanted to share one of the application questions with you and see if what you would answer to this question.

The question: What would you say is your ‘learning edge’ at this point in your life journey as a human being – as an individual, and as a member of groups of many kinds? What personal capacities do you aspire to?

Here is what I wrote:

My learning edge at this point in my life as a human being is the question; who am I? Is there a right choice verses a wrong choice? Letting go of my belief that there is, and my need to always be RIGHT. Letting go of the fear of being wrong that stops me from doing. The question, what is my soul’s purpose here in this body, in this family, in this world, on this path? My edge is finding peace in simply being here and now in each moment and finding purpose in that. Finding the balance between taking action verses simply being and observing, the line where I am able to do both. As an individual, my edge is learning how to take action without, or rather in the midst of fear. It is also how to sit comfortably in the discomfort of my fear and observe it, feel it, and let it be. My learning edge is how to have a voice around my fear and my needs. To establish my own boundaries and clearly, comfortable, confidently and celestially keep them in place. To decipher the difference between boundaries I have in place out of social, family, and history conditioning that my no longer serve me, verses the boundaries I never learned were ok to have in place but need them. My edge at this point in my life as a member of a group is to openly hear, honor and empathize with others in the group without my ego stepping in to cast judgment, place labels, or over empathize and take on what the other is feeling. To learn how to feel and process the weight of the world without taking it on as my own dis-ease. To learn when to step up and take assertive action, be a leader, verses always holding back and allowing others go first. Embodying the truth that I do add value to a group. Embodying my total authentic self, my joy, my love, my sexuality, my sorrow, my creativity, my feminine, and owning it. Moving past fear and into self-freedom.

What would be your ‘learning edge’ at this point in your life journey as a human being – as an individual, and as a member of groups of many kinds? What personal capacities do you aspire to?
