Gratitude

09 Feb

dreamGratitude is easy when life is going smoothly, when you have everything you could want for, when there is food on your plate, when your partner loves you and your children are still so young that they love you everyday and still want you to tuck them in at night. It’s a little harder to be grateful when finances are scarce, when you are going through a breakup, when your children are entering their adolescence, when a parent dies. And of course, how life usually works, is that when its tough that means you need gratitude the most. But when you are going through the rough patch sometimes its hard to remember all the things you are grateful for. I have a list next to my bed of questions that I look at every night before I go to sleep and every morning when I wake up it’s the first thing I see. What am I most grateful for? Is one of the questions on that list. Another great way to remember to think of the things you are grateful for is by wearing a gratitude neckless or caring a gratitude rock. That way every time you take off/put on the neckless or take the rock in and out of your pocket you are reminded to think of all the things you are grateful for. I wanted to share a few of mine with you and hope that you, like with the magic moments, will share some with me.

I am grateful for the relationship I had with my grandmother.

I am grateful for my lover/best friend/partner.

I am grateful for my parents and how open and generous they are.

I am grateful for the education I have had.

I am grateful for the generosity provided to make my films become a reality.

What are you grateful for?
